Why there is no list of the funniest horror movies ever made
A superlative is a claim about a direction, so a work on the far side of the midpoint is evidence against it rather than weak evidence for it. Of the 61 horror films we have scored, only four score past the midpoint on tone — and five is the floor for a ranking here. This list used to publish anyway, filling most of its places from the wrong side of the axis, which is a worse page than no page. It comes back when the index holds the works, not when we decide it should. Everything we have scored is in the film index and on the subgenre guides.
